"Helen Jackman joined the Macular Disease Society in 2009 as Chief Executive. Prior to that she worked in a range of public policy and development roles. Most recently at NESTA (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts). As well as running this very busy national charity, where she has to travel the width and breadth of the UK, Helen is a mum of an extremely lively and active two year old boy. She also finds time to join in some of the charity's fund raising events and has run the British London 10k and is doing a night walk in September to help raise money. Helen is respected and admired for her achievements, by her family, colleagues and visually impaired members and volunteers who use the services of the charity.
