"Surprised and excited that I have been chosen to represent Rye Park Depot as a Paralympic Torch Relay runner, as a cub scout leader (akela) I have been a member of the Scout Association for the last 39 yrs. I have been a cub scout leader in Enfield district for the past 27 years and as you can imagine each week is a challenge with 40 young boys and girls. Whether it is art and craft, games, cooking, camping skills, sports and of course challenge evenings. The colleague challenge was a great example of how blind people can overcome personal situations and be able to live a near to normal life. Being in darkness and kicking a football is not an easy challenge to achieve, but with the aid of a bell in the football, it makes the task a lot easier. It would be wonderful to represent Sainsburys my depot and the Paralympics. Thank you."
