"Aged just 14, Gemma lost her leg due to a road traffic accident. Having struggled to walk for four years she became involved in an Osseointegration research programme and became the first girl and youngest in the world to have a pin inserted into her leg. Due to the support of three disability charities she found hope and realised a positive future could be obtained and following the birth of her baby she felt that it was her opportunity to raise awareness and give back to amputees and decided to take on the challenge of the 300km London to Paris bike ride raising money for 3 disability charities. Following this success she has completed an intensive training course and is now a qualified Personal Trainer. Gemma's goal is to work with amputees new and existing to see the potential health and fitness has in the road back to obtaining quality of life."
