"I am nominating my sister Gemma for all the work she has put into raising funds and awareness for a charity called The Lily Foundation. 18 months ago Gemma`s youngest daughter, Freya, was diagnosed with Leigh`s Disease. Since then, Gemma has been the driving force behind raising so far £13,000 for The Lily Foundation, through encouraging and inspiring others to perform sponsored runs through to organising a charity pyjama walk through her local community, which also attracted local press coverage. Gemma was also instrumental in securing an agreement with a local company to dedicate their charitable fundraising to the Lily Foundation. Gemma is an inspiration to everyone, showing just how much can be achieved on top of being a full time carer. With so many more fundraising activities I know Gemma has planned, Gemma will truly make a difference to the affected childrens lives."
