"I was born 11 weeks premature and weighed 2lb 11oz. My mum was told I would not survive and when I did they said I would probably be mentally and physically challenged. Here I am 18 years later and going from strength to strength. I want to prove that just because I`m in a wheelchair I can do things that others enjoy. I bowl, swim, play games, read, go to the cinema as well as other things. I have gone to speak to important people who could help to change disabled access etc. e.g.MP Ed Balls, heads of airports, retailers and have given talks. One of my friends asked me recently `Gareth would you not love to be normal?` and I replied in my opinion I am normal but then again what is normal?"
