Filip's nomination story

"Filip is an ultra-endurance mountainbiker. One day he came up with the idea that a mountain bike race could be a great opportunity to give help to Peter, a son of his colleague from ArcelorMittal Poland. A boy suffering from currently incurable spinal muscular atrophy type I. The undertaking was consisted in transferring to Peter's account money obtained from an auction of symbolic stones ? ""Crumbs of Life"" ? fetched by him and his friend Mateusz from the highest Alpine passes of Transalp Race 2008 ? 600 km mountain bike race in the Alps. The action of 20 Crumbs of Life was a success. In total they collected EUR 7,5000 for the rehabilitation of sick Peter. Filip`s sporting personal bests are: 1st place in overall pairs classifcation in IronBike 2011, Intalian and French Alps (the toughest mountainbike stage race in the world - 7 days, 663 km, 58000 m of elevation gain, 58 hours on the saddle ),3rd place in overall men category classification in Transrockies Challenge 2010 (the toughest mountainbike stage race in the North America - 7 days, 450 km, 15 000 m of elevation gain); "
