"I believe passionately that everybody has the right to learn to swim safely. I have been running 2 swimming clubs in Milton Keynes for many years. Carlton Club since 1974 and subsequently Quest, both based on the Lakes Estate. Areas around the Estate have a number of open water areas and my clubs run to the STA awards as they have swimming survival elements. I love teaching people of all abilities to swim and enjoy seeing them progress. I started swimming at age 9 and my favourite place is in the water. I moved to Milton Keynes in 1971 and became a swimming instructor in 1974. I encourage young teenagers to gain swimming qualifications for life saving and instructing, so they can gain local jobs and support my clubs by teaching others to swim I am never lonely in Milton Keynes as I have taught so many people to swim."
