"Dave is an enthusiastic member of the Disability and Carers network committee and leads on external liaison. As Learning Rep for the GMB union he organises events and has highlighted learning opportunities to the business. His inspiration and hard work stretch far outside EDF Energy. He is a carer to his wife Sue who runs a disability rights campaign and political blog, which is in the UK Top 10. He supports her at conferences, media interviews which help the campaign. Most recently, they met with 10 charities in London to gain their support, had 10 volunteers in their flat to help post reports to parliamentarians and met with Lords to help with amendments to the Welfare Reform Bill. This was the most successful social media campaign ever! On top of this he cares for his father-in-law who has Parkinson's disease to allow his mother-in-law some respite from her caring responsibilities."
