Christine's nomination story

"In 1975 I completed the Duke of Edinburgh gold award, this inspired me to do voluntary work with young people. I opened and ran a DofE open group for 2yrs. I have been a Guider for 36 years and was a Scout helper and on the local Scout executive for 14yrs. I have also been a cook and now organiser of a local church lunch group for elderly/disabled people (16yrs). I have done several solo swims of 1 mile for Cancer Research. For the past 14+ years I have lived with M.S. and abseiled the local church tower for M.S. charities, I am being carried over the Brecon Beacons for M.S. challenge in June. I have been presented with both Scout and Guide thanks badges , Devon Guide County Standard Award, and was Braunton Rotary Citizen of the year in 2005. I believe life is for living and does not stop with M.S."
