"Catherine is deeply committed volunteer with Dreamflight, a UK charity that changes young lives through taking seriously ill and disabled children on holiday to Florida. She has organised and accompanied nine trips, using annual leave from work, and has also inspired much of the fund-raising which makes the trips possible. The children leave their families behind, giving them an opportunity to discover independance, confidence, and a new outlook on life. Many children could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of medical and non-medical volunteers, including Catherine, who care for them 24 hours a day. In 2008, eight of the UK paralympic team, including medal winners, had been Dreamflight children, who citied the trip as a turning point in their lives."
