In all events, shooters fire at paper targets containing concentric scoring rings. In the qualification rounds each ring is worth points from one to 10, with one point as the outer ring and 10 at the centre.
In the final, the outside ring is worth 10.1 points and the centre is worth 10.9 points.

Competition format
Athletes shoot first in a qualification round. In all events athletes take 60 shots, apart from in the women’s 10m Air Pistol, where athletes take 40 shots.
In each event the total of all the shots determines each shooter’s overall result. The top eight shooters then go through to the final, where they shoot again. Their final round scores are added to their qualification round scores to determine final rankings.
Ties for medal positions are broken by a shot-for-shot shoot off.
