Sweden scrape past Great Britain in extra-time

Sweden moved past a stubborn Great Britain team in the women's Goalball quarter-finals, securing a  2-1 win thanks to a sudden-death goal in extra-time.

The first half offered very little in the way of goal-scoring chances. A mix-up in the Great Britain defence almost resulted in a goal as a slow ball rolled to the line before being saved, while a shot very nearly squeezed under the body of Georgina Bullen.

The second half began in dramatic fashion. Anna Sharkey nearly scored with Great Britain's first attack and she then gave away a high-ball penalty which she saved.

Sharkey involved herself in the action again when she scored in the 16th minute. Her goal kick-started a period of high drama and Malin Gustavsson equalised for Sweden a minute later.

Though Great Britain hit the post, the tie eventually went to extra-time. After one Great Britain attack, Gustavsson slammed the ball back towards her opponents to score the decisive, sudden-death goal.
