Cool Runnings will be shown on a selection of London 2012 Live SitesLive Sites in Middlesbrough, Norwich, Portsmouth, Swansea, Manchester, Dover and Woolwich will provide temporary seating for the screening of the film Cool Runnings. The hit 1993 family comedy directed by Jon Turteltaub is loosely based on the true story of the Jamaican national bobsleigh team's debut at the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympic Games, and stars John Candy as Irv Blitzer, a retired bobsleigher and the team’s new coach.
