New music company Emerging Icons provided over 50 of the acts, choosing some of the most promising acts signed up to www.emergingicons.com.
Following the success of the performances throughout the Games, Emerging Icons have chosen the best of their artists to appear on a digital album entitled, Emerging Icons in the Park.
Emerging Icons’ aim is to go the extra mile to develop key strategic partnerships and collaborations with the biggest platforms out there – creating a real platform for the most dedicated artists to get heard by both industry and fans.
Launched in 2008, by music graduate Kat Jackman, the business started as a band review site called www.unsignedbandreview.com (UBR) - the site has recently extended its features to include an online music industry social network, and now each artist within the UBR community is given a free fan profile on www.emergingicons.com. As fans engage with the artists profile, the company picks up on those artists to help to give back, where appropriate, with radio exposure, live gig opportunities and promotion, and are thus being labelled as the music industry social network that gives back.
Emerging Icons Director, Kat Jackman said, ‘Having been a musician myself I feel passionate that great music shouldn’t live within a small community of fans – it should be available for millions of people to find and enjoy. I really do want to continue the legacy of London 2012 to inspire a generation’.
The album is available for download now.
