Britain’s Paralympic gold medallists honoured with Royal Mail stamps

From today, 31 August, special Royal Mail stamps will go on sale to commemorate every gold medal that Great Britain win during the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Sarah Storey gold medal stamp
Royal Mail issues the first gold medal stamp to celebrate Sarah Storey's Paralympic gold medal win in the Track Cycling women’s C5 Pursuit final on Day 1 of the Paralympic Games. The stamps are available to buy at selected post offices.

As winner of the Host Nation’s first gold medal, track cyclist Sarah Storey was the first member of ParalympicsGB to appear on a gold medal stamp.

It is the first time that a set of stamps has been issued to celebrate Paralympic gold medallists from the host country.

In addition, Royal Mail is painting some of its iconic red post boxes gold to celebrate each ParalympicsGB gold medal win. Where possible, the gold post boxes will be located in the home towns of the gold medallists. The transformation will happen within days of a gold medal win.

The stamps are available to buy in local Post Offices and on the Royal Mail website
