Tam Chik Sum of Hong Kong wins silver, Jovane Silva Guissone of Brazil wins gold and Alim Latreche of France wins bronze in the men's Individual Epee - Category B.

He said: 'Of course I'm very happy for this medal, but this victory is also for the disabled people in Brazil.

'I think this victory shows how capable disabled people are and what we can do in the sport. So I hope this encourages them.'

Guissone racked up a 15-14 victory against Tam Chik Sum of Hong Kong in the final at ExCeL.

He said: 'When the score was 11-13 and I was losing, I thought "I have to do something". However, I think that my opponent expected me to do something as it is expected from the person losing to be more aggressive, but I really was careful.

'I kept myself really calm, I took some risks, attacked in the right way and I think this helped me to score and to build the score to 14-14. At that point I thought "I have to go for it" and I did.'

'It's a shame to lose by one point, we both were very evenly matched and he was just lucky to get that one point, that's what won him the gold,' said silver medallist Tam.

'I thought I played pretty well, I tried my hardest. This is my first Paralympics and I have been training very hard. My opponent was quite strong, apparently he's number one in South America.'
