Despite the 2011 world champion Xiao Yanhong of China being knocked out in her last-eight elimination round, the field going into the women's quarter-finals is strong.

It includes 2008 Paralympic gold medallist Gizem Girismen of Turkey, who will face world record-holder and world number three Zahra Nemati of Iran.

There will be high expectations that at least one Turkish archer will make it through to the semi-finals, with world number one Ozlem Hacer Kalay and number two Hatice Bayar both taking to the field.

Shock knockouts in themen's Individual Recurve - W1/W2 elimination rounds yesterday have resulted in a dramatically different quarter-final play-off field than had been expected.

Great Britain's Paul Browne will face world number three Tseng Lung Hui of Taipei and Sanawi Hasihin of Malaysia is also in the mix.

Asked how he might fare in the quarter-finals, Browne said: 'I don't like to think about that. I just hold my nerve and carry on.'

Iranian archer Ebrahim Ranjbarkivaj continues his dominance of his class and looks likely to go through to Monday's semi-finals.
