The Royal Artillery Barracks will host the Olympic and Paralympic Shooting, and Paralympic Archery competitions at the London 2012 Games.
Olympic Shooting will take place at The Royal Artillery Barracks from 28 July – 6 August 2012. Paralympic competition will take place from 30 August – 6 September 2012.

The Royal Artillery Barracks
The Royal Artillery Barracks is a temporary venue which has been built specifically to host London 2012 sports competitions. Most of the temporary infrastructure required for the Games, such as the shooting ranges and grandstands, is now in place.
Additionally, some temporary overlay, such as spectator facilities, tents, cabins and fences are required on site for operational and security purposes. Most of these facilities have now being installed at the venue. These facilities, along with the other infrastructure installed at The Royal Artillery Barracks, will be removed following the completion of the Games.
LOCOG will work to keep all noise and disruption to a minimum.

Venue operations during the Games
Safety
London 2012 is working with safety advisors and the Royal Borough of Greenwich to ensure the venue is safe for athletes, officials and the public.
This includes a safety exclusion zone, which will be implemented at the venue. In certain weather conditions, shot residue from the Shotgun events may not be captured by the safety netting. The safety exclusion zone covers an area beyond the safety netting where this residue may fall. Measures have been put in place to ensure that members of the public cannot access this area. We would like to reassure you that the possibility of Shotgun residue falling beyond the safety netting is unlikely, however, we need to take these precautions to ensure everybody’s safety.
Noise
LOCOG does not expect this to have any major impact on surrounding properties, but we are aware that it may cause some disturbance to pets. Local pet owners should ensure that pets are kept in a safe and secure environment. If your pet is easily distressed by noise, you may wish to consider keeping your pet indoors.

Spectator transport
London 2012 is aiming for 100% of spectators to travel to competition venues by public transport, walking or cycling. Spectators with a ticket for a Games event in London will receive a one-day Games Travelcard to use on the day of that event.
Spectators will be encouraged to travel to Woolwich Arsenal station and walk to the venue. An accessible bus service will be provided between New Road and the venue, for spectators with accessibility needs. There will also be a limited number of Blue Badge parking space provided close to the venue, which will need to be booked in advance. Cycle parking will also be provided.

Local access and parking plans
The London 2012 Games will attract large numbers of visitors to venues and their surrounding areas, which means some temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be needed.

15 April: Temporary closures of Ha Ha Road commences at 6am
16 April: Temporary closure of Repository Road commences, daily from 7am – 7pm
16–28 April: ISSF Shooting World Cup
28 April: Daily closures of Repository Roadend at 7pm
3–6 May: London Paralympic Archery International Tournament
8 May: Ha Ha Road reopens to the public at midnight
Hours of operation
Olympic competition will take place between 8.15am – 5pm each day.
Paralympic competition will take pale between 9am – 6.30pm each day.

After the Games
Following the completion of the Paralympic Games on 9 September 2012, all temporary facilities, temporary ranges and infrastructure will be removed.
London 2012 is working with the government and other key parties to identify opportunities where elements of the venue and sports equipment could be re-used after the Games.
