During the Olympic Games in July and August 2012, Bloomsbury will be home to over 5,000 media representatives from across the world. They will be accommodated in hotels and student housing in the area and will travel to and from Olympic venues on shuttle buses operating from the Media Transport Hub in Russell Square. A Media Transport Hub will be operational from mid July to mid August 2012.
To facilitate this operation, some temporary structures and facilities will need to be installed in the Russell Square area.
There will also be some temporary changes to the ways in which the roads in and around Russell Square currently operate. These roads will form part of a wider Olympic Route Network that is designed to get athletes, officials and the media to events on time. Find out more information about the Olympic Route Network
