Highlights
In 1988, Tunisia first participated at the Paralympic Games when athlete Monaam ELABED competed in athletics. They have an all-time medal count of 54 in six Games (23 gold, 22 silver, nine bronze), all won in athletics. Their first gold medals were won in 2000 with Wissam Ben BAHRI (high jump), Ali GHRIBI (pentathlon), Fares HAMDI (long jump) and Maher BOUALLEGUE won who three (800m, 1500m, 5000m).
