Highlights
Portugal made their Paralympic Games debut in 1972 when they were represented by a men's wheelchair basketball team. They did not return to the Games until 1984 where they won 14 medals, including four golds in athletics and boccia). Their 85 all-time Paralympic medals consist of 25 gold, 29 silver and 31 bronze with their best ever Games in 2000 when they won 15 medals (six gold), and ranked 26th.
