Panama made their Paralympic Games debut in 1992 in Barcelona, with a delegation of two competitors in athletics. They have won eight medals (three gold, four silver, one bronze) that have all been won by the same person. Said GOMEZ competed in athletics in four Games (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004) winning medals in three of them. Only two other people have represented Panama, Ernesto ARCHER in athletics and Désirée ARCHER in swimming.
