Highlights
Following independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, Moldova made their Paralympic Games debut in 1996 in Atlanta, where they sent five athletes to compete in track and field, powerlifting and table tennis. Their two bronze medals were both won in 1996 by Nikolai TCHOUMAK (10,000m bronze) and Vladimir POLKANOV (table tennis).
