Kazakhstan, having become independent in 1991, first made their Games debut at the 1994 Winter Paralympics in Lillehammer, and have competed at every summer Games since. Along with Liechtenstein, Kazakhstan are the only participating NPC to have won a medal only at the Winter Paralympic Games.
