The Central African Republic sent a team of one to compete in their first Paralympic Games in 2004 in Athens, where powerlifter Thibaut BOMAYA finished 11th in the 56kg weight class.

In 2008, their sole competitor was shot putter Rosel-Clermarioit-Chrisitan NIKOUA who finished 14th.
