Bosnia and Herzegovina made their Paralympic debut in Atlanta in 1996 after just having become independent from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1992. They have competed in every Games since 1996, winning a total of three medals, all in men's sitting volleyball (gold in 2004, silvers in 2000 and 2008).
