Afghanistan

Highlights

Afghanistan made their Paralympic Games debut in 1996 in Atlanta, where they were represented by road cyclists Gul AFZAL and Zabet KHAN.

The NPC was banned from the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney because of Afghanistan's treatment of women under Taliban rule, but when they returned to the Games in 2004, their team consisted of sprinter Mareena KARIM and cyclist Waher HAZRAT.

In 2008, they were represented by powerlifter Mohammad Fahim RAHIMI.
