Volodymyr Antonyuk has won gold medals at each of the last two Paralympic Games with the Ukraine team.

At the Athens 2004 Games, the Ukraine beat Brazil in the final to claim the gold medal, with Antonyuk playing his part in the team’s success.

At Beijing 2008 he captained the team to a second successive victory. Having progressed through the group stages undefeated, the Ukraine overcame Brazil 6-0 in the semi-final, setting up a meeting with Russia in the gold medal match.

Antonyuk scored two extra time goals in the final as the Ukraine won 2-1, securing glory and a place on top of the medal podium.
