Paola Fantato competed in Archery at five successive Paralympic Games between 1988 and 2004, winning a total of eight medals.
She first took her place on the podium at the Seoul 1988 Games, where she won a bronze medal in the Double FITA Round 2-6. Four years later she claimed a gold at Barcelona 1992 in the Individual AR2 event, and then won a gold and a bronze at Atlanta 1996.
At Sydney 2000 Fantato claimed gold medals in both the Individual W1/W2 and Team events, before following this up with another gold and silver at Athens 2004.
