A gold medallist in the last four Paralympic Games, Brazilian judoka Antonio Tenorio is a Paralympic legend in his sport.

His first success came at the Atlanta 1996 Games, where he was victorious in the 86kg weight category. Four years later in Sydney he won the 90kg category.

Tenorio moved to the 100kg category at Athens 2004 and managed to maintain his streak of gold medals, before repeating this with another victory at Beijing 2008, overcoming Azerbaijan’s Karim Sardarov by ippon in the final.

In claiming victory at Beijing 2008, Tenorio became the first person to win four consecutive gold medals in Paralympic Judo.
