London 2012 celebrates Diversity Day
London 2012 celebrates Diversity Day
London 2012 Organising Committee Chief Executive Paul Deighton speaks at an ExCeL event to mark London 2012 Diversity Day. Deighton highlighted how stakeholders are delivering on their promises during the bid to host the Games to ensure London 2012 is as diverse and inclusive as possible.

The Business Charter explains how LOCOG is embedding the principles of diversity and inclusion into its own procurement activities, as well as those of its main contractors and suppliers. LOCOG has three key procurement objectives for diversity and inclusion:

Diversity and inclusion is not only important when choosing which companies are awarded contracts. It also must be at the heart of an organisation’s culture, such as the way it recruits and treats its own staff.

  • Publicise its own business opportunities to a truly diverse range of suppliers
  • Make sure that businesses awarded contracts seek to promote related opportunities to a diverse range of suppliers
  • Ensure that contractors share its aims for diversity and inclusion and improve, further improve, their own performance in diversity and inclusion.
