The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) today announced a shortlist of seven world class design teams for the Handball Arena for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will provide elite and community indoor sports facilities in legacy.
World class design teams shortlisted for London 2012 Handball Arena
The following multi-disciplinary teams have been invited to tender for the contract for the design of the Handball Arena, which will host the Olympic Handball competition and the Paralympic Goalball competitions (lead company in bold):

ODA Director of Design and Regeneration Alison Nimmo said: “We are looking for a Handball Arena design that enhances the experience of the Games and the Olympic Park as well as providing a sustainable legacy for elite and local sport. This is an impressive shortlist for the design of one of the key permanent London 2012 venues.”
Notes to Editors
An OJEU contract notice was issued in June 2007 for design teams for the Handball Arena with an appointment expected later this year. The procurement of construction contractors will begin in early 2008 with construction due to complete in 2011 ahead of test events.
