Public consultation concludes

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) will today begin the process of collating and assessing the initial feedback from local communities on the Olympic Park planning applications.

The applications were submitted to the ODA Planning Decisions Team (PDT) in February which prompted a public consultation to allow local communities to have their say on the proposed plans for the Olympic Park.

This consultation included the distribution of pamphlets explaining the applications to local occupants, public exhibitions, placement of adverts, site notices and posters and copies of the applications in community facilities such as local libraries.

The public have also been able to view the plans both online and in the PDT's new office in Stratford which will continue to act as a drop-in centre for anyone requiring information on any of the planning issues relating to the Olympic Park.

Vivienne Ramsey, head of the ODA Planning Decisions Team said: "It is important that the local communities living around the Olympic Park have the chance to have their say on the planning applications which will help transform and regenerate the area.

"Although this initial consultation period has now ended, we will still have an office in Stratford for people to drop-in and ask any remaining questions they may have."

The PDT will now consider the feedback gathered during the initial consultation period and is expecting to conduct another round of consultation before making recommendations to the ODA's planning committee. A decision is expected later this year but timings will be influenced by the unprecedented size of the document and the responses received.
