From today, all planning applications relating to the Olympic Park area will be determined by the Olympic Delivery Authority Planning Committee.
The Committee, chaired by ODA Board member Lorraine Baldry, held its inaugural meeting last night in Stratford, East London.
Details of planning applications submitted, planning decisions and dates of meetings can be accessed at a new ODA Planning section of the London 2012 website or at a new office in Stratford.
Lorraine Baldry, Chairman of the ODA Planning Committee, said: "The Government has given the Olympic Delivery Authority the power to set up this Committee so that planning decisions within the Olympic Park area are decided by one dedicated planning team, to help ensure the venues and infrastructure for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are delivered on time.
"I am delighted to be working with my fellow committee members who are councillors from the local boroughs or independent members.
"It is important that local people know how the Committee works and how they can engage with it, and I urge them to pick up a leaflet locally, drop in at the new planning decisions office in Stratford or take a look at the website."
The Committee's powers cover a strict geographical area around the Olympic Park which includes parts of the London Boroughs of Towers Hamlets, Newham, Hackney and Waltham Forest.
The ODA will act in the same way as other planning authorities, undertaking public consultation on new planning applications which may include public meetings or exhibitions, letters, and the hearing of representations at Committee meetings.
