Greenwich Park

The London 2012 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is proposing to use areas within Greenwich Park, the National Maritime Museum and the Old Royal Naval College to host Equestrian, Modern Pentathalon and Paralympic Equestrian events at the Games.

Timetable of activity in the run-up to the submission of the LOCOG planning application for Greenwich Park at Games time

  • Ongoing pre-application consultation throughout the summer.

  • June-November 2009: Pre-application consultation for Statutory Consultees and Key Stakeholders.

  • July 2009: Scoping Report made available, which seeks opinion on information to be submitted as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

  • 23 September 2009: LOCOG attend Greenwich Societies Meeting at Blackheath Halls.
  • October-November 2009: Formal public pre-application consultation.

  • November 2009: Completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment.

  • December 2009: Submission of the planning application. Package to include the full planning application including the EIA, full details of venue layout and proposed cross-country route and design, listed building consent, Scheduled Ancient Monument Consent.

  • April 2010 (approximate): Decision expected from Greenwich Council Planning Authority.
