Men's 100m Freestyle at the London 1948 Olympic Games
Swimmer Keith Carter of the USA wins the second heat of the men's 100m Freestyle at the Empire Pool in Wembley at the London 1948 'Austerity Games'.

2012 marks the third time London hosts the Summer Olympic Games. Ahead of this evening's Swimming finals, we remember the London 1948 'Austeriy Games'. Pictured above is Keith Carter of the USA. Carter won silver in the men’s 200m Breaststroke and came fourth in the 100m Freestyle final.  

Both the London 2012 Olympic men’s 100m Freestyle and men’s 200m Breaststroke finals takes place tonight in the Aquatics Centre.
