Seb Coe pledges support for 100 Days of Peace project

London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) Chair Seb Coe has pledged his support for a project designed to promote a safer and more tolerant society across the Games period.

London 2012 Inspire mark initiative, the London CITIZENS 100 Days of Peace project aims to build stronger communities, neighbourhood organisations and relationships with the police.

The project will launch on 9 June and run for 50 days ahead of the Games and for 50 days afterwards, before a new map of London is published on 28 October showing CitySafe Zones.

Seb Coe said: 'The 100 Days of Peace project is a great initiative and I would encourage all members of the public and businesses to back this. It absolutely fits in with the vision we set out in Singapore to inspire young people and provide them with new opportunities in life.'

An integral part of the 100 Days of Peace project is the CitySafe Campaign, where young people and adults will work on a number of initiatives including encouraging local businesses and organisations to offer their premises as CitySafe Havens, and pledging to report 100% of crime.
