The Russians, whose surprise victory over pool favourites China in their opening match was followed by a disappointing reverse to Greece, returned to top form in the London sunshine as they defeated Simone Kuhn and Nadine Zumkehr 21-17 19-21 15-9.
Vasina and Vozakova's victory, allied to their win over China, sees them finish top of the pool ahead of the Beijing bronze medallists, while Kuhn and Zumkehr pip Greece's Vasiliki Arvaniti and Maria Tsiartsiani into third place by virtue of their better head-to-head record.
