The Russians were immediately on course for their third win in as many games in pool A after they raced through the opening set in just 17 minutes before winning 25-7 25-14 25-15.
Russia's tall front row was far too powerful for their rivals, who have just a single point from three games to leave them in danger of missing out on the last eight.
Liubov Shashkova underlined the Russian dominance at the net with 12 spikes while skipper Maria Borisenko had five blocks in her nine-point haul in just over an hour on court.
Russia will next play on Friday against fifth-ranked Japan, who beat the Dominican Republic in today's opening game, while Algeria face a tough ask against second-placed Italy.
