Hancock racked up a total of 123, missing just two clays over all five rounds.
Another big crowd had gathered on the shotgun range at the Royal Artillery Barracks for the Skeet - where competitors fire at clay targets from seven different positions.
Valeriy Shomin of Russia is second in the standings ahead of the final later today.
Great Britain duo Rory Warlow and Richard Brickell narrowly missed out on places in the final.
Warlow, 22, began the day four points off the lead and 36-year-old Brickell a point further back following yesterday's opening qualifiers.
Both realistically needed to shoot perfect 50s over their two remaining rounds this morning to stand any chance of progressing.
