Asked what was most memorable, the first French woman to get a Canoe Slalom gold said: 'Of course the podium and all the French supporters. I would like to have been a little mouse amongst the supporters to hear everything they were saying.'

She said of her coach: 'He kept telling me everybody else's time. I had to tell him to stop because I knew what I had to do to win.'
