Both men’s and women’s Tournaments will feature 12 teams. The remaining three places for the men's draw will be decided at an qualifying tournament in Venezuela in July, while the remaining five places in the women's event will be decided at a tournament in Turkey from 25 June – 1 July.
London 2012 Organising Committee Director of Sport Debbie Jevans said: 'The Olympic Basketball tournaments will see some of the biggest basketball stars in the world come to London to compete for gold. Today’s draw gives us a glimpse of some of the exciting encounters, world-class players and top teams we’ll see in action this summer.'
The women’s Tournament tips-off with the first group game on Saturday 28 July, while the men's gets underway the following day. In both events, the top four teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage.
