The veteran Czech duo have a combined age of 75 yet displayed no signs of fatigue as they rallied from a set down to post a 17-21 21-12 15-7 win over Kentaro Asahi and Katsuhiro Shiratori on a damp morning.
The Czechs now have one win and one loss to their name in Pool B and face reigning Olympic champions Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser of the USA in their final match, while the Japanese finish the preliminary phase against Spain.
