Paralympic Swimming Gold-medallist Giles Long shows his medal to a visitor at Open HouseOpen House also offered visitors an opportunity to meet Olympic and Paralympic athletes – Jason Gardener, Georgina Harland, Giles Long and Leon Taylor.
The Get Set London Roadshow was also there giving local people an opportunity to see how the 2012 Games will benefit jobs and skills, culture, sports, business and regeneration in the capital.
ODA Chairman John Armitt said: ‘Visitors to the site during last year’s Open House were able to see the work underway to clean and clear the Olympic Park, much of it contaminated through decades of industrial use. This weekend thousands of people saw first hand that while Team GB and Paralympic GB were shining in Beijing work has been continuing at pace on the construction of the venues and infrastructure for the London 2012 Games.’
