ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: ‘The Stadium site is now a hive of activity and over the coming months we will see the Stadium structure start to rise from the ground.
‘This is a challenging project and we are not complacent about the challenges that lie ahead but we have made a strong start. Real progress is being made every day on the site.’
All eight tower cranes, each between 48m and 60m high, have now been erected in the Stadium ‘bowl’ - ready for the acceleration of the concrete and steel work. They are currently the tallest visible landmark on site.
