ODA remains on target

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has published its Annual Report for 2007–2008 highlighting the progress made to date.

ODA Annual Report and Accounts 2007-2008The ODA Annual Report and Accounts 2007-2008
The report covers a year when the ODA delivered virtually all - and exceeded some - of its milestones to achieve by the Beijing 2008 Games. This included the major tunnelling and cabling project that will allow power for the Olympic Park to be switched underground.

Almost 200 buildings have been demolished across the site to make way for construction to start on three of the five main venues – the Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Village and most recently the Aquatics Centre. Construction work started three months earlier than planned on the Stadium site and two months on the Aquatics Centre site.

Publishing the report, ODA Chairman John Armitt said: ‘Thanks to the hard work of the team, impressive progress has been made over the last year with the Olympic Park transformed and construction already underway ahead of schedule. This has been reflected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) who praised the progress and gave us 9.75 out of 10.’

The ODA has published 10 new milestones – ‘the big build: foundations’ - that it aims to achieve by 27 July 2009 – three years from the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
