Local children show Jonathan Edwards their artwork around the Olympic ParkBefore the summer holidays 14 primary schools in the five Host Boroughs - Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich - have taken part in sessions that highlight the importance of staying safe around construction sites; 10 secondary schools will also take part in the autumn.
ODA Chairman John Armitt said: ‘Children and young people are integral to the success of the Games in London, and there have been many opportunities for them to get involved.
‘We have had a string of really successful projects that have been set up so that children from all the Host Boroughs have had the opportunity to get their hands dirty – be it with paint or mud!’
