Jonathan Edwards with Waltham Forest Youth Ambassadors and Cllr Clyde LoakesDuring his time in Waltham Forest, East London, Edwards met Cllr Clyde Loakes and new 2012 Youth Ambassadors (above), hearing how they hope the Games can transform their local area.
Edwards joined Sir Trevor Brooking to open a new sports hall at Leytonstone Business and Enterprise Specialist School, providing facilities to encourage young people to get into sport.
He later found out about a scheme to get local residents into jobs related to the 2012 Games and took part in a table cricket tournament at Brookfield House Special School.
The London 2012 Organising Committee Board member, said: "I really enjoyed my day in Waltham Forest. It was great to find out what the Council and local residents want from the Games and to spend some time with the borough's young people who are obviously excited to have the Games on their doorstep.
"I hope to be back to see how the plans progress over the years. This is a hugely exciting time for Waltham Forest and the east end of London."
