The 35-year-old is the undoubted star of Great Britain's team and gearing up for a fifth successive Games.
Ainslie already boasts three gold medals and a silver from previous Games and is expected by many to add to that haul in home waters in the men's Finn class.
Competition gets under way tomorrow with two races and Ainslie, fresh from a practice race today, is raring to get started.
'I am ready to go,' he said. 'I am looking forward to racing and hope things go well.
'It was good out there today. It was a great breeze, perfect sailing conditions.
'It is an interesting course that medal race course (Nothe Course). It is pretty tricky so tomorrow starting off there will be a tough race.'
