Logistics and security staff gather near the Olympic Stadium to mark Armistice Day.As in previous years, staff working on the Olympic Park were encouraged
to observe the two minutes silence at 11am on Friday 11
November, the anniversary of the end of the First World War in 1918.
Contractors co-ordinated the morning so that groups of workers were able to take part at construction sites and office locations across the Olympic Park, with the start and finish marked by alarms, whistles and horns.
A number of ceremonies took place around the Park including one at Eton Manor, the London 2012 Wheelchair Tennis venue.
Logistics
and security staff gathered close to the Olympic Stadium to honour
those who gave their lives for their country.
The two minutes silence was also observed at London 2012’s
headquarters at Canary Wharf.
